The Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew of Lakeview, Ohio recently made adonation in the amount of $2,300 to benefit hospice patients withinLogan County, Ohio who are served by Wilson Hospice. The charitableorganization has been in existence for nine years and is comprised ofvolunteer members.
The generous contribution to Wilson Hospice aided in thepurchase of a Suzuki Qchord®, which combines features of anautoharp, piano, guitar and other musical instruments, in digital form, and four CD players. This musical equipment will assist musictherapists when working with their patients. Music therapy can oftentimes improve comfort, relaxation and pain control. Three new pulseoximeters were also purchased with the money donated by The TurkeyfootBenefit Crew. Pulse oximeters offer the least invasive method formonitoring oxygen levels in the bloodstream. By using an electronicsensor placed on the patient’s finger, earlobe or toe, medical professionals can check the oxygen level in apatient’s blood cells.
“We are honored to be the recipient of this generousdonation made by The Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew,” said BonnieFaulkner, executive director of the Wilson Memorial HospitalFoundation. “The equipment we were able to purchase with thedonated funds will make a significant difference in the care we areable to provide to our Hospice patients.”
