Auxiliary
The Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was first organized in July 1930. Their first major project was to gather during the weeks prior to the Hospital dedication and sew needed articles for the Hospital.
Other fundraising projects include: bake sales, rummage sales, greeting cards, shoe sales, book sales, and of course the mainstay--two gift shops.
These volunteers do not just work to purchase items for the hospital. They also assume numerous duties and projects for the hospital such as sewing, mending, escorting newly admitted patients to their rooms, clerical work, providing information to visitors, feeding patients, entertaining the young patients, help with meal trays and delivering of flowers, mail and the newspaper. The many volunteer hours provided by the Auxilians are equal to twelve full-time employees.
These volunteers help to make Wilson the best community hospital.
